How Many Of You Use Oil Extractors?
I have a CLK55 AMG. I added a lip and it does not go up the ramp anymore and I HATE to let anyone else do an oil change since NONE of them let all the oil drain completely. I have read lots of good reviews on oil extractors. How many of you use it? Pros and Cons? I only see Pros and no Cons

Almost all cars serviced at an MB shop get the oil siphoned. If done right, there should not be any more oil left compared to draining. Perhaps there are differences between specific models. And some few cars don't have even the dipstick tube where draining is the only option.

Don't have one, I pull the plug. I would not be worried about the amount left but don't have the extractor. Didn't know where the dipstick was until last week. NOONE could find it. It was suppose to be infront of pass cylinder bank. Wasn't it was rear of pass cyl bank by the transmission tube.
Don't know that I will invest in the extractor given 13,000 mile frequency of changes. Doesn't hurt to give bottom ov drive train a lookover once a year.

I use a small vane pump I got at WW Grainger. The impeller is oil compatable.. was about 90.00 and works great. I made a adapter that slips inside the dipstick tube with a couple "o" rings on it. No biggie to make on the Lathe..
I maybe will get 1/2 cup more if I pull the drain plug.. Works super..
