W208 - Spark Plug and Wire Replacement...

Hello Folks,

I have a 2002 CLK55. I need to replace the plugs and wires.

Is there a special tool used to pull off the spark plug wires from the coils and plugs? How do they disconnect?

Also, what special tools would I need to get to the plugs at the back of the block?

Any suggestions on where to get the parts?

Thanks in advance.

JM

Special tool listed above works great.

Option would be the open end of a 17mm wrench. Put the open end around the end of the metal part of the plug wire and pry against the valve cover.

As far as the plugs in the back of the engine, I just use a 3/8 wratchet with a short extention and a universal socket attached to the spark plug socket.

Where are you located?

Thanks Gents...

I am in the Midwest... St. Louis, MO for the moment.

And yes, I will get the parts from anywhere but the "Stealer".

Thanks,

JM

Thanks Eurosport...

I did the job yesterday with help from your write-up and photos. Thanks.

I installed Bosch Fusion IR plugs and new Magnecor wires. She started right up and ran like swiss watch.

Now I want to see if the gas mileage improves on a long run. I will let you know.
