Question Is Lane Change auto-flash frequency programmable?

I really like the lane change feature... Move the turn indicator to the first detent and release, and it blinks three times, without you holding the lever. (Is this a feature with all MBs?)

Except, I would prefer it blink 4-5 times, as I like to give more notice at freeway speeds. Is it possible to program at the dealer, like the "Norway" settings for alarm chirping?

I'm not the first to ask this question... someone on the MBNZ.org has already posed the idea, but hasn't gotten an answer.

Don't believe it programable, at least I have not seen anything in any lit or manuals that lead me to believe it is.

Well when i replaced my amber to clear lightbulbs it would flash really quickly inside because it was a malfunction. But I don't know if it did it outside. Anyways, after a while it went away.

I agree with Mbbob.. 3 flashes is simply too short an interval. Travelling at high speed, one can't just switch lanes in 3 flashes (that's like what? 3 seconds?)

Why not just hit it again after it stps, or, hold the lever in position and release it when its flashed enough, or turn it on all the way and off when finished. Very easy to do any of these things.

I think the 3-flash "feature" is simply a user access to the same automatic flashing of the turn signals when you lock the car. It's probably meant to be a convenience in certain cases. I agree, you can just hold the turn signal lever at the detent position yourself to get the number of flashes you want -- this is what I usually do anyway. Once in a while I'll hit the turn signal only to change my mind but then I get the 3 flashes, which in that case I don't want.

mbtech,
Is there a "Norway" setting to change my car from Magma Red to Citron Green? Or maybe to make it a CL600?

To change the color of your car have the tech enter the "Van Gogh" menu, then the "Palette" sub-menu. Be advised that changing to metallic colors will result in a $650 fee. Changing to Citron or Capri blue will result in an additional $1150 special order fee. Do you really think MBUSA would let you get away without paying, and paying, and paying?

To change the C230 into a CL600 have the tech use the "Fairy Godmother" program. You will have to buy this program for $120,000 plus appicable taxes.
