why do you need the ibm t30?
can you use any other comp.
i have a friend that is a computer expert, and he told me there is nothing special about the ibm.
all i could tell him is that the system needs ibm.

It can be run from any laptop or desktop. The reason why the ibm T30 is the laptop of choice is because it is what was used by MB as a factory system.

A more sever restriction is the lack of a true serial port on most later models (T23 is popular, T30 very similar).
