help needed cam adjuster

Hi, I have a 2006 c230, and my check engine light came on...I scanned it and came up with codes p0016 and 17, I think it might be the cam adjuster, but can somebody help with this, anything would be appreciated! I searched the forums but couldnt come up with anything that would help.

also, is there a filler tube for the trans, or is it one of the 'sealed' units, that dont need to be serviced??

Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

BMW E30. I've turned to the dark side.
Go to your dealer. they will know what to do for the cam adj issues.
7-speed transmissions should be serviced officailly at 39k miles and then only. i think the 7-speed trans should be serviced every 50k or so thereafter. they seem to be harder on the fluid than the 5-speed type 6. just my opinion.

Can't help you with the CEL, but no, the 722.9's do not have a dipstick. They are filled and checked by using the drainplug opening.

edit: as of MY '09 type 9 trans service recommendations every 40k miles. i wish they could just make up their f-ing mind.

I wouldn't even go by some of MB's service recommendations, their "lifetime" fluids will eventually need to be changed if you plan on keeping the vehicle. Personally, 30k for transmission, 50k differentials, coolant 50k or 4 years, brake fluid 50k or 4 years.
