'01 E55 Rear Bumper Removal - for trailer hitch

I just got a trailer hitch from curt manufacturing www.curtmfg.com. In the installation letter on their website, it says the rear bumper needs to come off to do the job. I am going next Monday to have this work done, and I'd like to gather any tips from the forum before then. Has anyone on the forum had a trailer hitch put on their E Class sedan (W210)? Hoping the E55 isn't any different than any other E Class, since it is a W210 chassis.

Any tips on getting the wiring done? The Curt website says I will need a Tconnector 1, 3 wire system, requires powered converter.

Seems that most of the trailer hitch places in Las Vegas, NV will not do the wiring. Fletcher Jones said Mercedes never made any wiring harness for this model.

Thanks

Mercedes did make a wiring harness, but it's for European specification only.
