Hood Latch Won't release
I'm working on my friends car and I can't get the hood open. The handle is pulled as far as it will go (the one under the dash) and the cable must be stretched or out of adjustment so it won't open. It's been like this for a while but it would previously open with a little tugging but not this time. Obviously, I should have fixed it before but is there any way to open it now, say from underneath?
BTW this is a '79 SEL.

update...in case anyone cares.
I just unhooked the lever mechanism under the dash and pulled the whole assembly really hard and it was enough to pop. Apparently, there is no adjustment, just have to replace the whole cable. That'll be fantastic.
