Magnets for CPS not recognized

What does that mean? Got this DTC 18 on the DI module of my 400E. How could the magnets not be recognized? They are still there. Could it mean something else? Car runs OK but does miss sometimes when it gets hot....

Sure sounds like your CPS is going. When the miss becomes a stall and you can't restart the engine until it cools down, you'll know for sure.

going going,, gone. CPS has failed if it can't read. That is unless you removed the magnets.

Well that's just it. I replaced the CPS 'cause that error was displayed....then I get this error. Could the replacement CPS be bad? Resistance test is within spec.
