autozone wont rent OBD2 scan tool anymore

they told me its against california law.. WHAT?? to me.. it seems like another way to keep us from under the hood of our own cars.. anyways I came up upon this site. the scan tools are as cheap as 35$

I have a similar one. never used it on my benze but it is usefull for reading codes. FWIW the one I have won't reset them (although it says you can), but I can read fine....

Which brand are you currently using. I was looking at one that "is suppose" to clear codes and be upgradable from a USB port on the pc?
