my 2000 C280 shuts off at random times

I dont know if this has happened to anyone else that owns this model but, my 2000 C280 will shut off at random times.

example..

I will be driving the car and it will just turn off while the lights are still on and working. Then it wont turn back on till 15-60 mins

I will have the car in park and when I try to start it up again it will take 15-60 min to start again.

I thought it was the battery so I changed it. Still no luck. I took the car to the Auto Haus on Edens Dealer
1550 Frontage Rd
Northbrook, IL 60062.

The technicians ran tests and found nothing wrong. The tech reccomended that it might be the gas I buy or I dont drive the car often enough.

Then I took it to a local mechanic that is dependable and they couldnt locate what was causing the problem.

I think it might be an electrical issue something with the mother board.

Any thoughts, suggestions or experiences that you would want to share would help out.

Thanks.

I'm guessing crankshaft position sensor. Common problem on the later years.

I think crank sensor will correct the problem (Common problem).
