2001 C240 Passenger Seat Controls Not Working HELP!!!!
Ok, so I just bought my wife a used 2001 C240 and the day after I brought it home, the passenger seat controls stopped working. To make matters worse I had the seat leaned back kind of far so now its pretty uncomfortable for anyone to ride in the car. Can ANYONE help me with a self fix for the problem or is this something Im going to have to take back to the dealer for an exorbitant repair price. Any info would be helpful. Like I said, I bought it for the wife and if I dont fix it Im sleeping on the couch. haha

Check the fuses first. (open drivers door and remove the panel at the end of the dash, the fuse chart is there)
If it is not a fuse (probably not) then it is probably the seat control module. $$$$

Gullwing, thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, I checked the fuse and like you said thats not the problem. I see the multiple dollar signs...yikes! Any idea where I can get a replacement seat control module for a reasonable price? Is this a DIY repair or do I have to take it to the dealer? Thanks, appreciate the help!

This is not specific to the W202 but a general note. I am familiar with the W210 system and your W202 could be similar or different.
It could be the switch itself.
Also, do you have memory seats? If yes, try to push one of the momory buttons.

Hey loubapache thanks for the info, but what exactly do you mean when you say it could be "the switch itself?" (this problem is entierly new to me)
I looked under the seat and it appears all the plugs are plugged in and intact. I checked the fuse and that didnt seem to be the issue. I havent tried the memory seat button yet, which I'll do right now. If that doesnt fix the issue do you think replacing the entire seat module is neccessary? If so where can I get one for a decent price. Im REALLLYY trying to avoid the Stealer.

By switch, I means the physical thing you push to try to move the seats. In the W210, the contacts inside the switch could go bad.
Good you have memory feature. So if one of the memory button moves the seat, then it is highly likely the switch. If none of the memory button moves the seat, then it is something else (probably more $$$).
