Help foe a new Mercedes owner

Recently I just purchased a 1987 190e 2.3 with 106,000 miles on it. I have driven it about 300 hundred miles and the o2 sensor light blinks on and off. When doing this the engines chugs loosing its power. Should I change the o2 sensor or does this sound like a bigger problem. Any suggestions as to what is wrong?

Sounds like the O2 sensor to me. Be certain to use the MB sensor.
