2003 CL 55 AMG

MBTECH208, please advise

hello,

My 2003 CL 55 has the CHECK ENGINE light on. It has 504 miles on it. The light went off when i used the other key (#2) to start the car however when i put the other key (#1) back in to start the car the light reappeared.........

It was probably just a coincidence. The Check Engine light has nothing to do with which key you use. About the only thing you can do yourself is make sure the gas cap is on tight. Anything else will require a diagnostic trouble code readout.

oh im sorry i would also like to add that the light came on directly after i filled the car up with gas for the first time.....

There are hundreds of reasons for the check engine light to come on, ranging from meaningless to catastrophic. The fact that the light came on immediately after you fueled the car up leads me to believe you either didn't tighten the gas cap all the way, or you got a tank of bad gas. Then again, refueling may have had nothing to do with the light coming on.
