E350 trans problem
We have a 2006 E350 that was left running and sat for 48 hours. The car ran out of gas and then the battery was totally drained.
Car was fueled and the battery given a full charge. Car will operate in 2nd gear only or "limp mode."
Can this be resolved easily? I do have access to the big MB diagnostic computer, but would incur a hefty flat bed fee for getting it there. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Generally when a MB goes into one of the two limp modes you need to scan the car for transmission codes. Either an independent MB mechanic with SDS or a dealer. As you may know the purpose of limp mode is to protect the transmission hence the speed limitation.

This might sound way in left field but consider
1) disconnect power,,wait 1 hr reconnect
2) try it again.
3) if nothing changes try driving at moderated speed to see if the computer resets.
Then if nothing try dealer for reading codes.
