Headlights Won't Turn off in Daytime
Does anyone have any idea how to get them turned off? My dealer said they didn't know how to do this, and MBUSA says to ask the dealer to do it. HELP! Don
I purchased a 2001 CLK430 that was originally sold in Canada. It therefore is set to have the headlights be on whenever the engine is running. There is no way for me to turn them off even though they are not required to be on here in the U.S.

I think there is an option in the computer to change from Canada to the US version.

Can this be done manually just like re-setting the FSS?
It's been proven that daylight running lights increase road safety by increasing long distance visibility. I don't think that we'd all be turning them off.
Not to flame a fellow Canadian but, if I wanted a higher degree of safety, I'd always wera my seat belt and I would not have bought a 275HP V8 MB with a ragtop. I would have opted for a SUV or a minivan.
IMHO of course.

And you would have seriously bought a van or SUV to be safer than you are in your M-B convertible? Maybe a Mercedes SUV is safer, but no van is. And - generally - most SUVs are woefully unsafe compared to a regular car. Check out www.euroncap.com to see what I mean.
