CLK Torque Converter locking hard

I have a 2004 CLK 55. It seems that the converter "locks" hard and jerks the car at ~ 1800 rpm. I think that it is the converter because if I leave the transmission in 1st gear and slowly increase the rpms, I still get this jerk or hard locking feeling when I'm around 1800 rpm. The same thing happens if I leave it in second gear.
Any suggestions on what the problem is and how to fix the problem?
Is this a programing problem with the active learning software? How do I reset. Thanks.

There is a possibilty of intermix in the system (trans. cooler leaks inside the radiator). How does the coolant look?

You may be onto something. In April 2007 (38355 miles) there was trans fluid in the coolant and glycol in the trans fluid. They replaced the radiator and flushed the trans and S.O.P. new trans module.

I complained again in Feb 2008 (55081 miles). This time they replaced the torque converter.

Do you think a trans fluid flush would fix this? Do you know how the coolant causes the symptom?

I don't think a flush would hurt anything. But you may want to call the dealer and see what it might run to do a glycol test on the fluid before flushing.
