Heater hose question?

I want to disable the heater hose/tubing that heats up the windshield washer reservoir so I can use that tank to spray my IC. If I cut the rubber hose and splice in a valve, would shutting that valve a) cause any damage to any pump or circuitry, b) throw a code, c) disable any other functions like the interior heater?

I'm using the parts that make up the headlamp washer switch (pump and headlamp swith with washer button). Then clear tubing from Home Depot and industrial misters with check valves from an agricultural supply house. I have the Labtronics IC mister controller but haven't wired it in yet.
