m163 2002 320 EGR codes
I pulled the codes and gor a egr code for a ml 320 (2002).
THe car has 170K miles on it. It runs fine and we have not noticed any drivability issues. There are no modifications to the vehicle. The most recent sercive was replacing the pump in the gas tank.
The code is p0400?
Is the EGR code symptomatic of other issues? what is the normal procedure when recieving a EGR code (Cleaning of the passages, replacement of EGR,...)

it is very common for the egr pipe to clog full of carbon build up. You should remove the pipe and check it to see. It can be very difficult to clean out so you may just be better off getting a new one if it is completely clogged.
