Question Ignition Tumbler

Hey guys,
I drive a 2008 CL65, recently had some vandalization some idiot tried to stick a screw driver into the ignition. Mercedes wont sell me the part unless I get the work done my them. I dont want to get the work done by them because of the negative carfax and last time my car was there they royally screwed up. Does any know where I can get a Ignition Tumbler and key for 2008 cl65?
ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL HELP

Salvage yard?

Google Used Mercedes Parts; there's a huge market for them and lots of companies out there.

Your car dosent have a traditional key/tumbler.. It has a EIS and a smart key which is a dealer only as they have to be coded. Used ones will not work as they are coded to another vin..

Also when installed they have to be coded by a sds tester so this isnt a dyi install

Thanks for the reply"s guys,

I have a certified tech that has all the equipment to program and code, I'm just having an issue locating the part without going through the dealer.

LOL - I'd love to have a conversation with your tech. EIS (switch assembly) is a TRP VIN coded component, so I can understand you having problems locating the parts from someone other than a dealer.

When you do, unless they are virgin - as in never married to a car - your tech is gonna have his work cut out for him.

Dealers are not allowed to sell them to anyone anymore. I have seen independent techs screwing up the processes as well while programming. The programming key required is a one shot deal and if they screw it up you will be in for a headache. Just take it to the dealer you are just either wasting your time or opening a can of worms.
