Wierd Vibration
Lately i started getting a wierd vibration in the car, i think it has been happening for a while now but i used to think it was a bad patch of the road. Now i think it is happening much much more in frequency and amount.
Why do i say it is wierd ?
Well it seems to come when on a very slight load, eg going up hill slightly, slightly accelerating.
I first thought it was wheels but it doesnt happen at a specific speed or cant feel it much through the steering wheel.
So hoping its not the transmission but thinking it could also be diff, trans mounts or diff mounts.
Reason im not convinced it is mounts is it happens at a specific low load point. So thinking something like a valve in the transmission may be sticking. Also there is no noise heard, just the vibration felt throughout the car.
When it doesnt happen ?
When engine is somewhat idling (offload) decelerating (regardless of speed)
Full acceleration
Mild Acceleration
Low speed (seems to be most prominent in 4th gear)
Car is an E500 (2003)
Would appreciate any help at all !
thanks
Basically the transmission oil cooler in the radiator leaks, coolant goes into the transmission and the shuddering is the torque convertor clutches.
Basic solution is new radiator, flush the transmission and hope you caught it early enough. Don't wait to see if it gets worse, at least get a oil sample from the transmission tested.

Hope its not the gearbox though but doesnt make sense that it would be
