P0456 Error Code on W209
Since I bought the car, I can smell gas odor when I fill the gas to full. The odor will disappear when the gas is down to 3/4 of the tank. Recently, I just service A my car at the dealership and a few weeks after, a CEL came on my dash and I did a ECU check up showing P0456 Evaporation, a very small leak detected.
My car is 07 CLK350 with approx. 40K miles. When I call the dealer regarding the emission warranty 8 years/80,000miles, they said that it is unlikely to be covered because the prediction would be either the fuel tank or fuel filler neck.
I saw in some benz forum (can't remember where), some dealerships cover that under warranty.
Any advice?

Need to know the actual part that is leaking to make final determination.
So, if the fuel filler neck is leaking at a seal where it inserts into the fuel tank....would that be emissions warranty?
If a seal failed on top of the fuel tank, where the fuel gage float or pump is inserted as an example, would that be emissions warranty?
If the hose to the evaporation canister is leaking...would that be emissions warranty?
