Greetings,
I'm taking my 95 S320 in next week to my independent mechanic for maintenance. I plan on having the oil and filter changed, trans fluid and filter changed, and the rear end gear lube checked as well.
I asked if he drains the fluid from the torque converter and he said no. I read where this was part of the process. Is it necessary, how much does it hold?
Thanks....

Go to a mechanic with an inline Trans fluid changer. They hook up to the lines that go to the cooler. He can drain the pan, replace the filter, and then add fluid manually. Then you can watch the old fluid from the torque converter go through the machine and out with the new fluid going in. Complete flush!.
