Motor mounts on 1999 S500

Has there being a recall on the motor mounts for the 1999 S500?? The reason I ask is that, about a month ago, I bought a beautiful 1999 Brilliant Silver S500 with 58647 miles on it (certified by CarFax) and the FSS system indicated that it was overdue for an oil change. I took it to my mechanic- who has worked on my previous 420SEL - and told me that he was having a hard time reinstalling the oilfilter assembly cap because he did not have enough room between the frame and the oil filter unit. He showed this to me. Stated that he did not have any problems getting it out. Eventually, to place the cap over the filter and to insert the center screw, he had to actually jack up the engine on the left side (as you stand in fron of the car) in order to get a little room. It appears that this was a problem before (scratches on the frame!) and the motor mount may be collapsed on that side only? Is that normal or what? Any other recalls on this model that you guys are aware of?

Thanks.-

Recall Notices

You can get a free list of Recall Notices (titles only) at http://alldata.com. If you want to pay for a subscrition you can get the whole TSB (technical service buliten).

Scanning the titles, I did not see one about motor mounts for your car, but you should check more carefully than I did.

Good luck.

Yes the mounts are collapsed.
Same thing happened to my s500 coupe at 80000 kms.

Separate the long bolt from the oil filter cap and all works fine or get new mounts(on e-bay) about 200.00.
