USA to Europe imported C300 Navigation problem ??

USA to Europe imported C300 Navigation problem ??
Posted this on Audio thread, but no answers, trying now here...
I have a Mercedes C300 -2008 W204 imported from USA to sweden.
And in the service shop they are telling me that i must change the whole comand to a european if i want to use the navigation, which to me sounds crazy and costs a fortune. Isnt it the same signals, the same satelites, the same everything? Because when i zoom out on the navigation so i can se a map of the whole world, it shows that i am in sweden, and the signal is full. So it seems that it knows where im at.
It must be a easier way to fix this?
Installing european maps on the HDD?
Buy som extern adapter and reciver or something?
