2008 R320CDI rough, noisy acceleration
Hello
Got my certified pre owned dec 2011 with 72K km on it. Have 105Kkm on it now. several months ago it started to sound more and more like a truck on acceleration. Sounds rough, and under stress. I remember it so smooth before, hardly could tell it was a diesel. Dealer says its normal, no codes, that I should try to change gas. I did go for what I was told the best quality diesel with hi cetane (petro canada) also tried cetane booster. No difference. What could this be? I am just not getting the same driving pleasure out of my MB.
thanks

Have the motor mounts checked, verify the fuel filter is being replaced every 20k miles, look for fuel leaks and confirm that the exhaust is in good condition.

The filter may have not been replaced for 30K miles. I did replace it but no change. I have a hard time believing that engine mounts will cause this sort of noise and rough running.
thanks

Your descriptors of the problem leave a bit to be desired.
**********
I have not had problems with the E320's motor moutns, I have had problems with the E300's which uses the same mount system. When they colapase and begin to fail, they transmit sound and vibration, sometimes in unexpected ways. There is a trans mount too.
The motor mounts are easy to check. 17mm = new; 13mm = bad.
If it runs rough (misses), there ought to be codes. If it sounds like a truck, see if the belly pans fell off or if the exhaust has holes in it.
