C250 2012
Need help in diagnosing this issue on a c250 2012 caused by Attempted Theft

About a week ago, I left my car window open (drivers side) overnight, and didn't realize it until about 3 days later when I went down to my garage. It's a secured garage underground parking inside a condo - with only about 40 units. It's generally pretty safe and most people leave their bikes out.

I noticed that the driver's side flap (by the main audio control), came undone.
Not sure if someone might have tried to do something there...

a. Tried to get to the audio?
b. Tried getting to the ignition?
c. Tried to steal parts?
d. Insert GPS tracking system? lol

I've posted some pictures to see if anyone can help me out here:

My assumption is that, that wouldn't have come off easily as the front passenger's side is pretty sealed. I tried putting the driver's side back in, but it feels like something internal could be missing from it.

Driving performance seems to be a little strange too, not sure if that has any impact on it. But it takes double the time to power up when I hit on the accelerator now. However <-- this could just be a different issue altogether.

P.S: If this is the wrong subforum to post this question in, please direct me to the right one, and apologies in advance!

Thank you so much! I haven't been able to sleep well at night thinking about this
