C240
frustrated in Brooklyn

I have looked through this forum as a guest many times. I just joined as a new member. I have a problem with my 2002 C-240 front driver door. The dreaded "pogo" lock problem. Last week on my vacation from work I bought a lock assembly and replaced it, (not easy), hoping that would solve my problem.

As you probably guessed it didn't solve it, hence my reason for joining.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? The lock on the driver door is the only one with the problem. It goes up and down several times when you try to lock it. Happens when you use the key, or when you start driving, or use center lock button on the dash. (only when locking never when you unlock). Tried lubing the black boot on lock rod, lubing lock assembly ( by spraying lube down under black boot). Replaced the lock assembly. Still has the problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
