SRS control unit

Anyone ever had problems with the SRS control units on 124s? Last June (2002) I got a fault 5, driver side buckle. Now I also have a fault 10, which is unclearable and necessitates replacement of the control unit. According to the service manual, this was a noted problem, because fault 10 indicates the airbag was triggered, but never happened. The control unit reacted "sensitively to ground potential difference." There is also a warranty/goodwill claim number. So, bottom line, can I get a new control unit free of charge?

I had the same problem with the driver side seatbelt buckle. Repaired under warrantee. The SRS light came on, right?

Yes, the SRS light came on. My car is way out of the warranty period, so I'm unsure if I can get the control unit replaced for free.
