I need to replace the hinges on the hood of a 2004 E500 Wagon. Has anyone done this? Can it be done as a one-person operation? The hinges are an easy plug and play, but I think I might have to suspend the hood to make the swap. Any advice would really be appreciated.

Never pulled hood on 211 but have on many other cars. It is a must to have 2 people and 3 if possible.

Job turned out easier than I thought. Got instructions from some helpful folks at the W211 forum. Replaced one side at a time, it only requires about 10 pounds of lift to suspend the hood from the corner, then easy change out of hinge. Daughter (100 pounds) was proud help get it done.
