12V Ingnition Switched on ML

I did some searching on this and couldn't find an answer. I posted in the ML section but no answer there so her goes again here.

Can anyone point me to a location where I can pull 12V for my radar detector - ignition switched - on a ML500 preferably under the drivers side dash?

switched 12 volt supply

hello Mikepa
a slightly different approach, you will find switched power via fuse 22, (a 15 amp fuse) at the diagnostic connector under the drivers knee bolster, should be pin no#8 you will want to confirm this with a multimeter, this might be easier to access than the removing the ashtray.

Thanks Autotech. I also found switched power in the passenger side fuse box easily accesible. There's a post with a grey wire attached via a ring connector. Removing the nut and adding a new ring connector was very easy. I added an 2A inline fuse for safety as I don't know if the post is fused already. It was easy to run the wire over to the driver's side.... and much easier than getting at the cigarette lighter.
