1985 380SEL Smokes and fuel smell

Any ideas are appreciated. Car has only 100k miles. Compression is good at about 175psi on all 8. Noticed cylinder #1 spark plug is wet with fuel. Has spark and injector tested fine. While running I pull the plug wire (on #1) and makes no differnence in running. All other spark plugs are very black. Car smokes alot when running and smells like gas from exhaust.

Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, MINI and more!
Hmm

If it still has the factory ignition coil, I suggest you replace it.
A weak (dieing) coil would be the cheapest issue/answer.
