5.5 amg misfire on 2 cylinders. Please help me!
My new clk55 has developed a mis-fire on cylinders 1 and 7. I think it only does at idle and its not consistent.
If it was an MAF or an EGR valve would it show as a fault on cylinders 1 and 7?
Please help with any opinions as i can't afford to start chasing my tail changing loads of parts!
Thanks

Before you waste a bunch of money on a Mass airflow sensor, why don't you change the ignition cables?! Doesn't makes sense that a MAF would cause a misfire on only two cylinders! Change cables and do a ring gear adaptation!

The ring gear adaptation is the way that the crankshaft position sensor "relearns" the cylinder positions, if you will, so that it fires the cylinders more accurately. There have been times in the shop that we get misfires and when the ring gear adaptation(or sometimes sensor gear adaptation) is reset after a spark plug or spark plug wire replacement, it greatly improves the smooth running condition.
