key set for 380 SL
Recently I purchased a 1985 380SL. It has no master key. The ignition key is a simple key like you can have made at any hardware store. The other key is the valet key, and opens the doors but not the trunk or glove box.
Do I need to replace all the locks in the car? Can I order a complete key set from the dealer? How big a job is it to replace the locks?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Answer
Yes.
The dealer is your only answer for VIN# matched key and locks.
Call them BEFORE you drive there, ask what documents are needed, and be sure the owner of record (on the title) is there to order the required parts.
Here is their policy.
