Push button Start - Keyless Go

I recently purchased a 2010 E550 coupe that has the keyless go option. The doors lock and unlock with just a touch while the key is still in my pocket.
However, I don't have the push button to start and stop the car. I need to put he key in the dash... My local Benz dealer tells me they can sell me a replacement push button start for the dash, but could not confirm if it needs programming or not...

Any clue? does this push button need to be programed to start my car?

Your fob is programmed to your particular vehicle. The push button serves as a actuator so to speak.
