Bleeding Caliper at Brake Pad Change

Getting ready to change the front pads on my 2005 SL500.
Question: when I push the caliper pistons back to install the new pads, should I crack the bleed screw to bleed off the displaced brake fluid?
My concerns are back pressurizing the SBC unit ,causing damage if I do not do this
got everything else covered.. that being disabling SBC prior to starting
input appreciated

Just turn off your sbc pump . And change the pads . No need for bleeding or loosing that screw

You won't damage anything. If your pads are low, your reservoir should also be low unless you've topped it off. When you push the pistons back in, the displaced fluid goes back into the reservoir like other brake systems. Like the person above said, make sure SBC is disabled.
