Transmission wont shift

Hi
I have a 2005 c280 4matic the C/S button wont work , can't change gears manually and it will not shift out of 1st gear. Cant really find anything that states that mine has a 722.6 trans. Ive watch the videos about the plug housing and the contactor plate. Seemed to be a good candidate and also easier and cheaper. This is my first MB and owned it for 5 years and love them so much I brought a 2008 c300. I know theyre good cars just they are german made. I can work on most Amrican made cars but scared to death to attempt to work on mine.
Any help is very much appreciated
Scott

First thing you should do is plug a diagnosis tool and check the transmission for faults

I have and it is p0715 input turbine speed sensor circuit. Looks like possible contact plate. Didn't know transmissions could produce a code. Check engine light has been on for a while for unrelated problem

Yup its the plate ... im almost 90 % sure that the 4matic version did not come with the 7gtronic transmissions ... i think your conductor plate is the cheap one that doesnt need scn coding , its just a simple swap ...

So I contacted MB to check to see whick transmission in my C280 and its a 722.6. What does that mean need scan coding? Sound s like a trip to the dealer. Will my car shift correct after the swap or will it still be in limp mode ? And also tring to figure out what transmission fluid to use. Not real excited about 25.00 a quart for MB. Any suggestions?
