Fuel Trim / Mixture Too Rich at Idle

Hello, got a 2000 CLK Kompressor.

Engine management light keeps coming up, but performance, economy and general vehicle running doesn't seem to be affected.

The error code reads Fuel Trim Bank 1 - Mixture too rich at idle.

My local Merc specialist replaced an adapter link harness believing it could be oil seepage into the system but this hasn't solved the problem.

The car will sometimes go 5 miles before the light comes back on, sometimes 200 miles.

Any ideas?

Best thing to do is check for leakage of air .... it might be a broken or cracked hose .... just get a bottle.of water , push the screw driver on the tip and start pouring water on those air pipes , manifold , injectors .. if there is a damaged injector seal , A broken pipe or a cracked hose you will notice it ....

Also you can try to put an injector cleaner fluid in your tank . Sometimes a clogged injector keeps dropping fuel when it shouldnt causing a rich mixture .... but i would bet on an air leak somewhere in the system
