Do you hear that tick just when you start it cold or after you drive itnfor a while ???
Mmm here is the thing . If the water pump is bad water isnt circulating in your engine . However temp gauge will show normal temp because the hot water in the engine isnt getting to the temp sensors ... no water circulation causes engine to overheat causing that ticking noise ... weird shifting also is a side effect bcz the trannys oil is getting too hot .... when its warm put your hand on the radiator if its too cold then your pump is bad ...
