Need More Information.. Elaborate on what happened when your alt. went, and what happens when you hit 30mph?

Ok so think we found the problem O2 sensor must have went when alternator went took it out car has full power now apart from being loud due to hole where sensor went new one ordered so hopefully that's all that was causing the problem

sounds like you may have a bad catalyst. The hole in the exhaust that you created by taking out the O2 sensor allows the engine to breathe a bit more. Check it with a back pressure gauge.
