I'm about to order the $500+ spring compressor to keep in my garage for swapping springs, spring shims, etc. However, I wanted to see if anyone has successfully used this type of spring compressor to compress and remove springs from a W202 or similar car:
Thanks!

You can rent a good compressor from places like U-haul or a good car parts place. Much cheaper, your only going to use it this one time for $500! I think I paid $75 for a one day rental.

Jhaung...i used that type of compressor when i lower my Slk and Clk but couldn't.....
do it because it keep slipping, then i decide to try a different method remove the springs without spring compressor and believe it or not but i has been doing this for free about 8 cars.
