W211 Outside passenger side mirror

Just noticed that the outside mirror on the driver's side is bordered with a protective rubber trim. Yet the passenger side mirror is not. No big deal, not complainig, just curious if your w211 mirrors are the same.

Yes you are correct and that is how it is in most Benzes. The Drivers side is auto dimming and that is the reason for that thick rubber trim. THe passanger side is not.
