03 W203 HU illumination
Is the HU supposed to be at a different illumination level than the instrument cluster or the climatronic?
For example.
Turn the illumination control all the way to the left. On mine I still get some illumination on the instruments and the climatronic but the HU is completely dark.
Turn the illumination control control all the way to the right and the difference in illumination to the HU maintains all the way til full bright with the HU staying dimmer.
I asked the stealer for verification and he tells me its normal. I think this is .
I keep my control at about the halfway level. This setting makes the HU barely readable at night or anytime the autolamp turns on the lights during daytime driving.
Could anybody verify this on their vehicle? Is there a fix for this difference?
Oh yeah; the switchbank above the HU is also brighter than the HU.
Thanks
BTW.
There is reason to my madness of not turning the control all the way up. And yes, I did STFF.

RTFM and
Sorry but I couldn't resist this early in the morning.
Thanks for helping. The illumination control is the same as the odometer reset knob on the left side of the instrument cluster.

Mine does the same thing - sort of - and it pisses me off just a bit.
In order to e able to read the console control (heater etc) I need to have the dash set up to sunburn orange (way too bright it's distracting. When I set it brighter, the computer display is also way too bright. If I set the dash to a reasonable level, then I can barely see the concole controls - damm annoying when I'm trying to change from heat to defrost...
I'm gonna be going in for my service A in a few weeks, I'm gonna see if there's anything they can do about it.
