E55 Question for mbtech208 pls...

Hey mbtech

Here's the issue. When i'm driving around 50-70mph and i to press the gas a little bit harder to do a gear change the rpm climbs but the car is not shifting instantly??? Then after 3-4 seconds it starts to kick in. Is this a common problem, problem at all or should i bring it in to the dealer?

Pls advise.

thanks!

3-4 seconds????? Get that checked out since your car is under warranty I would assume. How often do you floor your car or drive it hard. Remember the E55 has that the driver adaptive tranny and maybe because you might have babied your car it is not use to the immediate throttle thrust???? Just a thought

Only floored it once. I'll get it checked out. No big deal it's just kind of annoying.

Thanks Vic!

The lag problem you've described seems to go along with the adaptive trans as the mb tech suggested,I'm on my 3rd clk 430 and they have all experienced this.

That sounds normal. Benz transmissions aren't instantaneous, you really have to drop your foot down sometimes if you want a downshift. As long as its not slipping or banging into gear, I wouldn't worry.

JamE55,

Try touchshifting down 2 gears successively & quickly...and floor it.

thanks Dave!

I only have about 1800 miles on this and only have floored it once so i may have to break it in a little bit more. Now i don't feel so bad.

thanks again Dave!

Thanks dark!

I don't really like to use the touchshifting feature as i always set the gear into drive mode.

JamE55.....i get that problem all the time when i floored my Clk 430 but.............

now i learned and get used to shift manually side way instead of the more commom sense up and down. There's no lag if you down shift manually.
