08 gl450 service code p2006

My o8 GL450 recently produced code p2006 (intake manifold runner closed bank 1). I was told to replace intake, but while researching for intake I ran across tumble flap replacement kits with new aluminum pieces instead of stock plastic ones. Will this kit fix problem or is it much deeper (whole intake)? Truck seems to be running fine, especially at speed

The kit will usually fix your immediate problem, but if the flaps were binding internally then making the linkage stronger on the outside of the manifold may cause something internal to break. this could cause the engine to ingest broken flap pieces. If you use the repair kit, make sure to remove the intake and clean and inspect everything and check for binding.

Thanks. The flaps seem to operate smoothly when manipulated by hand. I will definetly remove intake and inspect.

Hi, did you ever remove the intake and do you have instructions on how to do that? What kit did you use? Thank you.
