MB S500 4Matic

I have a MB S500 4Matic. I am getting an error message that says FLASH FILE SYSTEM DAMAGED WILL BE FORMATTED NOW. PLEASE DONT SWITCH OFF This shows on the command module every time I start the car. It goes off after a few minutes and then I have full function. I do have to reset the clock every time every time it goes through this cycle.

I had read in a forum that the dealer could simply reprogram the command system so I took it in. They charged me 150 and said to replace the system and it would be 6,000. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!

Any ideas. Hoping for an easy programming fix.

I assume you checked every single fuse? Could also try unhooking battery for awhile.

Thanks Glenn, I will try this but I have heard that this is a programming issue and the command module unit needs to be reprogrammed. I was hoping to hear from someone who had this issue and resolved it.
