Shell Helix Ultra 0w-40

For some reason, it is very hard to find that oil here in the states.

So far I think that's the best oil out there for Euro cars.

Used it on F10 M5 the engine idle is much quieter and very smooth loved it so much and now I tried it on the ML350.

Purchased from eBay because nowhere else is selling it. I bought two 5L can for little over $100, but now I just checked the same seller is selling for $134 per 5L!

Amazon is even crazier $100 shipping, all these are straight from Europe.

Because is so expensive now I'm thinking maybe switch to 5w-40 helix ultra since its okay for 229.5 engine as well. much easier to find.

From my understanding those ultra are base on natural gas instead of crude oil, and they use the same oil for Ferraris, thinking about calling Ferrari dealers to see if they sell any of them.

Anyone else used this oil before and would like maybe do a group buy?

any thoughts?

If you compare specs, M1 0W-40 is actually a bit better and MUCH cheaper and easier to find at Wal Mart. The new M1 0W-40 FS uses a GTL base oil like the Helix Ultra.

I mean I been using M1 0w40 also it's the OEM oil the entire time. until I tried the shell helix.

try it and you will see the difference lol or else i won't be going all over the place trying to find it.

I think the helix and Pennzoil ultra is from natural gas. Base on my research on M1 its still on crude oil, can't find the supporting articles stating it's from natural gas.
