2006 B200 Turbo camshaft control - P0079
I'm having quite the time finding a description of the variable valve control system for a 2006 B200T (VIN: WDDFH34X16J076749). Or any reference to a part or p/n, for that matter. The car is throwing a P0079 error (Exhaust valve control solenoid low voltage) along with P007A and P007E.
Does anyone know of a description of the VVC system that I can read? Specifically, I need to know if there is a solenoid (ie Is the camshaft control hydraulic?) or if the car has a magnetic control system like the C-Series. I only see a camshaft position sensor on the passenger-side of the head so I guess the control unit is underneath the air box on the driver-side(?).
If the problem is a short in an easily replaced solenoid/magnetic control unit, I rather do it myself than pay a shop. Any help would be appreciated.
