C350 2008 Reseting Engine Light

Hello,

I have a 2008 C350, the orange red engine light is on. I used an ODB2 to check myself and received P0140. I then took it to the shop and they agreed and noted it was my secondary air pump.

I order the part and did the easy fix.

Will the light reset itself? Or do I need to reset it?

Thank you

I tried to do this over the weekend. For my ODB2 it gave me the option to delete, no "clear" option.

I tried delete, and that failed, would not delete.

That is not a good sign, typically any reader can clear and or delete emission faults if the problem for the fault was repaired. To me that means that the problem still exisits. I would go back over your work and if you have the time post you VIN I will look at the factory docs to see if I can help!!

Well shoot. I am going to take it to the local shop today and see if they have different results when trying to erase the code.

The secondary air pump replacement was one of the easiest things I have ever had to do to a car, but I was go back and dot the i's and cross the t's.

I'll post VIN later.

I have heard that I need to go to a shop with the proper computer to be able to erase this.
