Blind spot assist reset

Hello, I have recently received error message"blind spot assist inoperative".
I don't know if rain or small bumper hit few month ago has caused this.
Is there a way for me to reset or recalibrate it myself? Car is out of warranty.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. It is 2012 CLS 550 4Matic.
Bumper was scratched a few month before failure, right where the sensor should be in right rear back.

If you look at the repair and replace instructions for the blind spot sensors it says to "commission" them using the scantool afterward so there may be an adaptation of some sort required in which case the answer would be no.

What car are you driving? An E-class?

It's a 2012 Cls 550 4matic. The bumper is pretty badly scrached right were the radar is. It was ok for a long time after the scratch happened, until a heavy rain.
Turn signals are randomly acting up now too. Got a turn signal error message 2 days ago.

Cls

Replace the turn signal bulbs and check sockets for corrosion.

your CLS is based on a 212 chassis E class.

most likely nothing you can do to diagnose and repair this one yourself except check connectors and possibly swap sensors but I dont think that will get you anywhere.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I'm going to do, just checking connections and send it to the shop.

any progress? My blind spot assist on 2011 R350 started acting up months ago then failed completely.. with inoperative warning. Is it usually the sensors? can you buy a used one and just swap? or do you need to hook up to Star system to activate etc.. I gather even if only one of the 2 sensors is bad, it will deactivate the entire system? thanks
