Hi all:
Car -- an SL550 -- has been perfect. We drove on a very rough gravel road for about 100 yards, and we parked the car [ for our wedding ]. When we drove off, the sound of metal or rock on metal starting shrieking.
We drove a bit further [ no noise under idle ] and the shrieking went away but a noise like bearings going loose started [directly from near the caliper]. it sounds like bearings were going loose. Finally, it sounds like something came off and a pssssssst sound.
We then called a tow truck.
Does anyone have ideas what might have happened?
Thanks,
Ransom

Hi,
you should start looking for a new bride.
What else, than a sign from the above could this be?
